First Aid at Work
(EMAS Approved – EMAS #096)
This course meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations for providing first aid within the workplace. It is designed to provide the necessary practical and theoretical knowledge to ensure that delegates will have the confidence to act swiftly and competently in the event of a workplace accident or emergency.
Run over 4 days, usually one day each week for four weeks, the course is a mix of theory and practical training. Reasonable physical fitness is required and comfortable clothing should be worn to facilitate practical floor work.
Course modules include –
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Recovery Position
- Control of Bleeding and Medical Shock
- Recognition and treatment of diseases and medical conditions
- Treatment of fractures, sprains and strains
- Burns and scalds
- Eye injuries
Duration – 4 days
